We successfully conducted a three-day Supply Chain Value Stream Mapping (VSM) workshop at Philip Morris’ Sahiwal Plant, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and identifying cost-saving opportunities. This initiative aimed to equip the key resources with the skills needed to analyze losses and optimize processes, ultimately enabling the development of a long-term cost-saving strategy.

Challenge Overview
Philip Morris’ Sahiwal Plant faced challenges in identifying inefficiencies across their supply chain and implementing sustainable cost-saving measures. The lack of a structured approach to loss analysis and process optimization hindered their ability to achieve significant improvements. The challenge was to train the plant’s key personnel on utilizing tools like VSM and the Loss Analysis Process, empowering them to uncover bottlenecks and design impactful solutions.
Result
The workshop culminated in the creation of a three-year cost-saving project master plan tailored to the plant’s operational needs. Participants gained practical insights and hands-on experience with VSM, enabling them to identify critical inefficiencies and propose actionable strategies. This initiative provided Philip Morris with a robust framework for driving continuous improvement, ensuring enhanced supply chain performance and long-term sustainability.
