We developed a custom RFQ (Request for Quotation) Management System tailored specifically for HUBCO's Procurement team. Previously relying on IBM Maximo for procurement operations, the system lacked a critical workflow automation feature for RFQ handling. To address this gap, we designed and implemented a solution using the SPFx SharePoint framework. This custom-built system aimed to streamline the RFQ process, reduce the workload on purchasers, and ensure efficiency in managing procurement tasks.
Challenge Overview
HUBCO's existing IBM Maximo system, while robust for general procurement, fell short in managing RFQ workflows efficiently. The lack of automation for tasks like email communication, form generation, and report creation meant purchasers had to handle these activities manually, leading to increased workload and delays. The challenge was to develop a user-friendly system that integrated seamlessly with their existing SharePoint environment while automating critical RFQ-related processes.
Result
The newly developed RFQ Management System significantly transformed HUBCO’s procurement operations. By automating tasks such as email notifications, custom form handling, and comparative report generation, the system reduced manual effort and improved efficiency. Purchasers experienced a streamlined workflow, allowing them to focus on strategic procurement decisions rather than repetitive administrative tasks. This automation enhanced the overall productivity of the procurement team, ensuring timely and effective RFQ management.
